Dr. Vanessa Tomas (she/her) is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Pediatrics with CanChild. She received her MSc (Rehabilitation Sciences) from McMaster University in 2019 and PhD (Rehabilitation Sciences and Collaborative Program in Neurosciences) from University of Toronto in 2023. Her research interests include implementation science in the field of childhood-onset and neurodevelopmental disabilities, and approaches to service delivery that are strengths-based, family-centred, and function-promoting. She has extensive experience co-creating and adapting evidence-based practices, tools, and frameworks; supporting and studying organizational-level implementation initiatives; and ensuring equity underpins all implementation activities (e.g., assessing barriers & facilitators, selecting implementation strategies). She also collaborates with additional, related organizations like Kids Brain Health Network and The Center for Implementation.
